Hey There

I’m Tasha! My photography journey began in 2003 when I dove headfirst into the world of film photography. At just 17, I was working in a studio and learning all the ins and outs of shooting in manual mode — talk about trial by fire! When the digital era swept in, I was there to embrace it with open arms. Eventually, I ran my own studio, capturing beautiful moments for my clients. But behind the scenes, something else was going on.

All About Me

For 17 years, I experienced waves of illness, misdiagnosed time and time again, until finally, I learned the truth: I have extensive transverse myelitis, aggressive progressive multiple sclerosis, intracranial hypertension, among other neurological conditions. Four years ago, I could still walk mostly unassisted, but my condition changed quickly, and my mobility has shifted. Yet, that hasn’t stopped me from continuing to follow and find my passions!

Though I don’t always get to be behind the camera with people like I used to, my love for photography, especially astrophotography, still burns brightly.

Space has always fascinated me — my first email address in 1996 was wereallyareoutthere@aol.com! And now, I find such joy in capturing the stars and galaxies, blending my love for light, science, and creativity.

This journey has been tough, no doubt about it. Yet, in a weird way, fulfilling. Finding new ways to express myself through astrophotography and design gives me hope, purpose, and excitement. I’ve learned that even when life throws unexpected challenges your way, there’s always room to push the limits — just like I do with my illness, I push the boundaries of creativity every day. It keeps me going, keeps my mind sharp, and reminds me that we are all capable of doing amazing, seemingly impossible things.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey and see the beauty that’s all around us, even in the hardest times. Let’s explore the wonders above together!
